Ahimi is now available at sushi counters
in 40 Whole Foods Market locations across 10 states.
Beginning today, Ahimi, the world’s first plant-based alternative to raw tuna, hits the sushi counters at 24 additional Whole Foods Market locations.
Ahimi is available in two grab-and-go options at the select Whole Foods Market sushi counters - an Ahimi California Roll for $8.99 and an Ahimi Sushi Combo for $11.99.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Ahimi, our plant-based alternative to raw tuna, to more consumers across the United States through our partner Whole Foods Market,” said David Benzaquen, Co-Founder and CEO of Ocean Hugger Foods. “Ahimi has the natural, meaty texture of raw tuna without the worry that your choice is harming the ocean."

To create Ahimi, our very own Certified Master Chef James Corwell used a proprietary process to enhance the savory quality of tomato using only five simple ingredients - tomatoes, filtered water, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar. The result is a product that is vegan, non-GMO and Kosher-certified. Because it’s plant-based, it’s free of mercury and PCBs and therefore safe for pregnant or nursing mothers and those with compromised immune systems to enjoy without worry.
In addition to the sushi counters at select Whole Foods Markets, Ahimi is popping up on menus in the US and Canada. Visit our store locator to find Ahimi on a menu near you. And join our mailing list to learn when we launch in new locations.
